Latin Finance
Case Study: Latin Finance
Guiding a niche publishing company during transition as a spin-off from large corporate conglomerate.
Latin Finance is a niche financial publication servicing the investment community in Latin America and US banks, Law Firms and Investment groups that do business in Latin America. Their model is primarily a institutional subscription model and conducting in region events that serve as matchmaking events for investors and related services. The publication spun off from it’s UK publication conglomerate, when the chief editor along with a group of investors bought the publication. The editor needed support in the transition to organize the company from a finance and reporting standpoint as well as overhaul the business development process that had become outdated and in need of structural and technical updates.
Accessing the current operation and crafting a plan to reorganize the sales organization and marketing and communications strategy, the company was able to successfully transition to a wholly owned and independent operation and use the base of the existing business to fuel future growth. Guiding and supporting the new owners and the CFO on best practices was a key component to the smooth transition.
